Talks About Nintendo Wii Going HD

Thursday, August 02, 2007

Will Nintendo go high definition with the Wii console in the next 2 or 3 years? Nobody really knows for sure at this point but there have recently been talks about it. Currently it's difficult to tell if all of the hype and enthusiasm for the Wii will grow or fade as Microsoft and Sony continue to create games using advanced HD technology for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

We cannot deny the fact that it's possible gamers could get bored of the Wii gaming console if Nintendo doesn't step up their game and create titles that are capable of allowing people to enjoy a true HD experience but only time will tell. If this does become the case you can bet your last dollar that Nintendo will do whatever it takes to listen to the voices of their fans in order to stay on top. I mean let's face it, a highly successful company like Nintendo hasn't been around this long without being able to meet the demands and requests of their consumers.

David Braben, an employee for Next Generation was interviewed recently and says the Nintendo Wii:
...sort of has a novelty problem... I think a lot of people are looking at the Wii, especially as it's not a high-definition machine, as a sort of party game machine
This of course is only one opinion, but it's possible he may have a good point. Either way, you can expect some exciting hardware and game releases from Nintendo and I personally don't see them being left in the dust anytime soon.
