Microsoft To Spend $1B for Xbox 360 RepairsMonday, July 09, 2007 Due to a plethora of complaints relating to general hardware failure issues with the Xbox 360, Microsoft Corp. claims they are planning to spend no less than $1 billion for repairs. Microsoft also stated they will be extending the warranty for their game console to 3 years. The company also plans to reimburse owners who paid for similar repairs for consoles that no longer had a warranty. The president of Microsoft's entertainment division, Robbie Bach, mentioned that necessary manufacturing changes have been made in order to help prevent future hardware glitches and lockups of the Xbox 360 game console. Bach did not go into any great detail about what exactly was causing the consoles to lock up. The annual E3 conference will be held from July 10 - July 13 in Santa Monica, California and Microsoft is hoping to create a positive vibe and assure gamers that many innovative and progressive advancements are in store for the Xbox 360 gaming console.
