Nintendo earnings continue to riseFriday, January 26, 2007 Nintendo is aiming to sell six million Wii units by the end of the current financial year. Incredibly, the Japanese based company claims they're already over half-way towards reaching that goal which they plan to meet by March. Due to the popularity of both the Nintendo DS and Wii systems, the company says their net profit has jumped 43 percent in the past 3 quarters. During those 3 quarters, Nintendo registered a total net profit of 131.9 billion yen, very impressive indeed. Yasuhiro Minagawa, a spokesman for Nintendo had this to say: Thanks to the Wii, sales have been rising smoothly and robustly. We are pleased that we have been able to fulfill our goals for this termThe Nintendo Wii has been a big factor in rising profit, but steady and continuous sales of both software and hardware for the DS have also contributed a great deal.
