Nintendo announces Weather Channel for the WiiThursday, December 21, 2006 Nintendo has announced another great addition to the Wii gaming console system. Not only can gamers message one another, download old school games, but they can also browse the web and check the weather forecast with the new Wii Forecast Channel which went live today. Those who own a Wii gaming console can now check local or international weather with a simple click of a button. The interactive globe, which is 100% to-scale, makes it quick and easy for users to check worldwide weather forecasts. The Forecast Channel is absolutely free and at anytime allows the option to check weather patterns up to five days in advance. Tomorrow (Friday), Nintendo prepares to launch the beta version of the Opera browser for the Wii which is free until June 2007. After that the cost will be only 500 Wii points or $5.00 for the software. Nintendo has also announced that they are preparing to launch a News Channel by January 27 of next year.
