Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3 launch this weekTuesday, November 14, 2006 Both the Sony Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii are due to launch this week and everyone wants to know which console is better for the price. The PS3, available this Friday at a cost of $500-$600 is double the price of the Nintendo Wii which will hit stores this Sunday at a cost of only $250. This raises the question, is the PS3 twice as good as the Wii? Although the PS3 supports Blu-Ray media and is a very powerful machine, unlike the Wii it does not have a vibrating controller, does not include any games with the console, and is rather pricey. The Nintendo Wii is cheaper with more family oriented games and also includes the option to download classic favorites for a fair price, not to mention the introduction of their new revolutionary remote control. Thing is, the Wii does not play DVD movies or audio CD's, and does not have highly intense graphics compared to other popular consoles such as the Playstion or Xbox. So really, it's a matter of opinion and preference. I grew up playing both Nintendo and Playstation games and really enjoyed different aspects of both consoles. In my opinion, both consoles are reasonably priced and I am curious to see which one becomes this holiday season's favorite pick. Whatever the case, whether you bring home a PS3 or Wii this Christmas, you can guarantee there will not be a dull moment with either console. Powered by dBLOGGER |
