Activision Wants Sony To Drop Prices For PS3

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Bobby Kotick who is the CEO of Activision says if Sony does not cut prices for their Playstation 3 gaming concole the company may have no other choice but to put a halt in developing games for them. According to Kotick the PS3 has been losing momentum and he claims it costs much more to develop games for the system compared to the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

Despite the fact that the number of PS3 units sold per year has been increasing since it's release in 2006, Kotick still says that Activision gets a much better return on their investment with the Xbox 360. This is just a warning and Activision will reevaluate the numbers in 2010.

Hopefully Sony won't have to worry too much about this, overall sales have been slow for Nintendo and Microsoft as well. More than 10 million Playstation 3's were sold worldwide last year so it's not like there's any need for major panic regarding economics for the multi-billion dollar company.
